Rumors have it that iPhone 5 will adapt to Nano technology in a big way. The rumor probably sprouts from the fact that Apple has already used nano technology in iPod. It is very likely that the company will use the technology in iPhone 5 as well. But will a nano version turn out to be feasible from economic and profitability point of view is the question to be addressed. The use of nano technology might be a very likely solution that can be used to create a low-cost device, which will increase the already huge customer base of the company.
Nano technology can be a solution to smaller and cheaper smart phones
Nano refers to tiny particles. In nano technology, microscopic particles are used as functional elements. Not only does the technology provide scope for making smaller devices, it also makes devices light weight and easy to handle. Tiny processors can be used to great effect using this technology, in the wake of the rumor that Apple is supposedly bringing out a smaller and low cost version with iPhone 5, it is being speculated that nano technology might be at play again. Since the technology is not new to Apple, the rumor might as well have shreds of reality. While still a rumor and in all probability, might not surface anytime soon, the expectation regarding a nano iPhone 5 is definitely food for thought.

IPhone 5 nano is probable

Wall Street Journal, however, seems to be convinced of the fact that iPhone 5 will go nano and will do it this next year. In a recent issue of the Journal, a writer revealed that Apple has plans of using nano technology to produce a smaller phone. Alongside the Wall Street Journal, magazines such as Bloomberg seem to be convinced about an economy iPhone 5 versions as well. The power of nano technology and its potential is huge and although it is being used in a lot of fields, it has not been adapted in the mobile industry in a satisfactory manner. Will Apple be the ground breaker in this regard? That is something that time and the release of the iphone 5, which has now been postponed to 2012 (this year Apple released iPhone 4s not iphone 5), will reveal.

The idea of nano phone is not new to Apple

The idea of producing a smaller phone which can fit in the economy class is something that Apple has been speculating since a long time. Since iPhone 5 nano rumors are very strong in this regard, Apple probably plans the release of the phone alongside the much anticipated iPhone 5. A smaller and cheaper smart phone will definitely mean lesser facilities and apps but there is no doubt about the fact that customers will pounce on it, if only to own a device from brand Apple. A smaller and cheaper phone will be economically feasible as well because of its mass appeal. The low cost of the device will be more than made up by the huge volume of sales. So, iPhone 5 nano can be a good option for both the company and customers.
